HIV Testing Process
- Call (phone pending) for a doctor supervised testing technician to come over to your home or wherever you’re comfortable to be tested at.
- You can select either a regular test or express test depending on how soon you want the test to be administered during the day. Testers can come within several hours or an hour.
- Testers will arrive in non-marked vehicles and in street clothes with pockets or purse big enough for the test. They will not be wearing a health worker’s uniform in order to not call attention to themselves and you.
- You will be given pre-test and post-test counseling and the opportunity to ask questions while you wait for the results. Results will be ready in 20 minutes.
- Testers will use the FDA approved OraQuick Advance HIV 1 & 2 to administer the test. The OraQuick Advance HIV 1 & 2 has a 99.8% accuracy and uses oral fluid instead of blood. Oral tests are fast, accurate and safe for people who don’t like to have their blood drawn or their fingers poked with a lancet.
- Payment can be made via credit cards or debit cards and cash. Cash is accepted for those who would like to remain as discreet as possible regarding the test.
